Got a Job

OK, I'll be doing the exact same thing I was doing... Seriously. I have the exact same job I did have, just working for a different company and NOT working for a little Hitler.

Looking for a JOB...

Well, I'm basically unemployed at the moment. And it wasn't my company that fired me. The joy's of contracting.

Basically, a VP at Signal Solutions here in Sierra Vista who doesn’t know how to manage people, besides yelling at them in public stuck me on a job I wasn't ready for and canned me when I failed.

So now I need a new job... Anyone got one they can steer me to?

Why "Graverober"??

OK, since I think I'm going to try and start keeping this thing updated (at least once a week) I figured I might let you all in on the origin of my name.

Graverober comes from two places. First, when I was 16, and first got my drivers license, my family didn't have enough cars. So my dad managed to find me a REALLY cool car that one of my mom's friends was selling! I was not happy at first. As those of you that know me know, I'm a Big guy and always have been. I don't fit in cars! I wanted a truck! But Dad and I want over to look at it. LOL, it was cool, and I fit in it! I had head room, leg room, and a LOT of storage room! So we got the car for $800 bucks I think it was. Well we went to the DMV a few days later to register the car. We had two choices for registration... 200 dollars, or 3000 dollars for the registration. why the difference? I'll get to that. We decided to go with the 200 dollar option. So we registered a 1975 Cadillac Station wagon.... Except Cadillac doesn’t make a station wagon. ;) The 3000 dollar option was to register the car as a Hearse.

My Grandpa had given me an old CB radio that I put in the hearse. And since I was the only person around driving a hearse, with a CB radio my handle became Graverobber.

And the Reason my name is Graverober (with only 1 B)? Simple, I can't spell to save my life, and I had been using that name for years online as a login and user ID, so by that time I wasn't going to change it! Plus, since I spell it wrong, I normally get my name! So if you see a "Graverober" somewhere, chances are, it's me!

So that's why my name is Graverober.

8 Going out to the bunker (that no one actually stood IN) when the alarm sounds
7 Hearing the alarm (DAM that thing is loud!!!)

3 Being shot at with Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG's)
2 Getting urgent emails requesting a certain type (B-, O+, etc..) of blood

I'm Here!!

Well I’m here. I’m in Kandahar Afghanistan, at the Airfield. I’ve been in country for a little over a month now. I was up at Bagram Airfield for most of that time. Learning what they want me to do here. It’s similar to what I used to do, but boy dose it seam convoluted the way things are set up!

The cool part about getting here was that I got to fly in on a C-17 Globmaster III. That’s the only major cargo aircraft in the Air Force inventory I had never flown on. It came into service after my dad got out. He hasn’t even flown on one! They even have 110 power outlets! It was so cool! That thing is a Cadillac of cargo plains in my opinion.

Well, I really don’t now what to say so I’m going to cut this short. One of these days I’ll get more time and try and make a longer post. But if anyone has questions just write em here and I’ll see about getting to them.

On My Way!!!!

Well for those who didn't now, I'm on my way to Afghanistan. I have tickets to leave early this week, and I'll get in towards the end of the week. I'm not going to get into the flight plans until after I get there though. I'll let ya now how that goes.

I'll be doing the same 'geek' things I did at Ft. H, but making twice the $$. Yes it's about the $$. Gotta pay the bills, living paycheck to paycheck is driving me up the wall. If I can stick this out for three years I should be 100% debt free! No more student loans, no more credit cards, I think the car will be paid off to! And If I just say screw it and stay all five years I'll see about buying a house almost entirely with cash!

But that depends on how long I stick it out. Only time will tell....
